New centre to combat cyber threats posed to Australian healthcare

Australia’s Clare O’Neil has announced $6.4 million in funding for a pilot Information Sharing and Analysis Centre (ISAC) aimed at protecting the nation’s healthcare system from cyber threats. The ISAC will share information about cyber threats and preventative measures, following successful implementations in banking and finance. O’Neil emphasized the need for healthcare providers to bolster their cybersecurity infrastructure due to their access to sensitive data and high risk of cyber attacks.
