Researchers at Johns Hopkins University and other institutions have developed AnVIL, a cloud-based platform allowing access to one of the largest genomics databases worldwide. The platform gives researchers access to over 300,000 genomes and myriad analysis tools, reducing the time and cost associated with traditional genomic analysis. AnVIL aims to level the playing field by providing researchers worldwide the opportunity to discover new genetic associations and risk factors for major diseases.
