New free software enables 3D image sharing in PACS
The Rady Hospital’s Helen and Will Webster Foundation 3D Innovations Lab has developed a software called Media2DICOM, which can convert videos or datasets of patients’ 3D models into standardized DICOM files. These files can be embedded in medical records and accessed by physicians, allowing them to better understand and treat their patients. The software aims to improve patient outcomes and can be used in hospitals, academic institutions, and veterinary centers for research purposes.
