New NKAbuse malware abuses NKN blockchain for stealthy comms
NKAbuse, a new Go-based malware, is the first to exploit NKN (New Kind of Network) technology for data exchange. NKN is a blockchain-based peer-to-peer network protocol aiming to optimise data transmission speed and latency. This malware predominantly targets Linux desktops in Mexico, Colombia, and Vietnam, launching difficult-to-trace DDoS attacks and functioning as a backdoor into Linux systems. NKAbuse also carries out remote access trojan (RAT) attacks, enabling command execution, data extraction, and screenshotting.
