New study highlights potential of childhood immunization against HIV
Weill Cornell Medicine research on childhood vaccinations against HIV suggests they could provide protection before adolescence, when infection risk significantly increases. The study demonstrated that a series of six vaccinations stimulated initial steps of a potent immune response in young non-human primates. The immune responses in infants and children might be more effective against HIV than in adults. The researchers aim to elicit a full-on broadly neutralizing response.
