New Threat Research: Cyberattacks by the Numbers

A 90-day study by the BlackBerry Threat Research and Intelligence Team found an average of 17,280 cyberattacks per day. Most targeted sectors were financial services, healthcare, and food retail. BlackBerry’s CylanceENDPOINT detected 1,578,733 malware-based attacks and 200,454 new malware strains. The report noted over 231,500 attacks on the financial sector, about 93,000 on healthcare and 12% on retail. It called for greater focus on cyber threat intelligence and pointed to AI and machine learning as key for developing enhanced defense strategies.
