New Zealand coming up with national HIE standards

New Zealand’s Health Information Standards Organisation (HISO) is developing new standards for interoperable health information exchange, known as NZ Core Data for Interoperability. This will standardize shared health data in clinical workflows and consumer access. It’s part of the Hira programme that aims to enable full interoperability across New Zealand’s digital health ecosystem, including the NZ Patient Summary, accessible on My Health Record platform. The team is also working on an application programming interface for direct integration with more clinical applications.
