New Zealand Customs Service had to amp up its cybersecurity resources in response to a serious vulnerability in the Apache web server (Log4j). Despite patching systems, attempts to breach the agency continue. Cybersecurity agency Cert NZ advises upgrading Log4j to the latest version to prevent exploitation. Major organisations have mostly addressed the threat but cyber threat actors continue to exploit the vulnerability in unpatched systems.
