NewYork-Presbyterian working on machine learning analytics to combat opioid crisis

NewYork-Presbyterian is partnering with machine learning vendor Splunk to develop data analytics tools to prevent the diversion of controlled substances like opioids. The platform will track data from various sources and provide insights to help guard against medication diversion. NewYork-Presbyterian and Splunk are also working on a data analytics tool to protect patient privacy and investigate unauthorized access to electronic patient records. The enhanced system is expected to be implemented this spring.
