NHS 111 service affected by cyber attack on computer system

Outage across NHS services including patient referrals, digital prescriptions and ambulance dispatches has been blamed on an “external supplier” named Advanced. Patients are being warned of delays as staff are reduced to writing everything by hand. Health secretary Steve Barclay said that contingency plans have been put in place, but the situation remains unresolved.
