NHS attack confirmed as LockBit 3.0
NHS 111 services were crippled by a LockBit 3.0 ransomware attack in August, vendor Advanced has confirmed. It caused 16 of Advanced’s customers’ data to be stolen and resulted in staff in GP surgeries and hospitals resorting to pen and paper. Although a “limited” amount of data was stolen before the system was encrypted, it is unclear whether patient or staff data was compromised.
