NHS Boosts Cybersecurity With Ethical Hackers & SMS Alerts

The UK’s National Health Service (NHS) plans to spend £20m ($26.9m) on a cybersecurity team to help protect patient data and the organisation’s IT infrastructure. The team will use ethical hackers to identify system vulnerabilities and will monitor online threats, enabling the NHS to undertake pre-emptive actions against future cyberattacks, such as the WannaCry ransomware attack in May. The team will also help develop a national real-time monitoring and alert service.
