NHS computer problems put patients at risk of harm

A BBC News investigation has found problems with the NHS’s IT systems, used to manage patient medical records, linked to three patient deaths and over 100 instances of serious harm. The investigation also revealed 200,000 medical letters had gone unsent due to issues with the systems. Hospital trusts reported problems that could impact patients, and a former NHS leader suggested a “cover-up culture” in the health IT sector. The NHS affirmed its commitment to improving patient safety and care.
