NHS cyber attack causes cancellations as London hospitals hit by ‘major IT incident’

A major cyber attack on several NHS hospitals in London, including King’s College Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’, has resulted in procedure cancellations. The attack appears to have most significantly impacted blood transfusion services. NHS partner and pathology services provider Synnovis, was hit by ransomware, disrupting their IT systems. A spokesperson for the NHS England London region acknowledged the “significant impact” the attack had on service delivery.
