NHS cyber attack causing chaos in London hits other hospitals in UK

The London-based pathology service Synnovis, a partnership of the private company Synlab and the NHS, was targeted by Russian cybercriminals resulting in significant disruption for several NHS hospitals. Notably affected were Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, and Guy’s and St Thomas’ and Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The Independent reports that while the extent of the impact is currently unclear, urgent services could be restored within weeks.
