NHS cyber attack could leave staff without patient records ‘for three weeks’
A cyber attack on the NHS’s electronic records system could prevent access to patient notes for up to three weeks, with urgent calls to the 111 service recorded with pen and paper. The attack is thought to have been cybercriminals, not a hostile state. The software vendor behind the service couldn’t provide an end date to the issue and hospitals may face weeks of disruption.
