NHS Cyber-Attack Delays Ambulances – Infosecurity Magazine

The UK’s National Health Service (NHS) is struggling with a cyber-attack that has disrupted patient referrals, appointment bookings, and other operations. The malicious activity was first detected by the managed service provider Advanced, which helps to operate NHS 111, a phone and online-based service for urgent medical advice. The incident has affected services throughout the UK, including the dispatching of ambulances, appointment bookings and prescriptions. Some suspect ransomware to be the cause.
