NHS cyber attack: Delays as only critical tests selected – GP
A cyber attack at IT firm Synnovis has caused significant disruptions to UK pathology services, impacting hospitals including King’s College, Guy’s and St Thomas’, as well as primary care services. Doctors are now only able to process “clinically critical” blood samples, drastically limiting testing capabilities. The attack by Russian group Qilin has led Synnovis to discard unprocessed samples. The NHS is dealing with the situation by focusing on planning and prioritising patient care, and calling for more blood donors.
