NHS cyber-attack: GPs and hospitals hit by ransomware

The NHS in England and Scotland has suffered a widescale, untargeted cyber-attack disrupting hospital services and GP appointments. While no evidence of compromised patient data has been found, many organisations have been left unable to access patient records after their computer systems were locked by ransomware. The hackers are demanding a £230 ransom in Bitcoin. No individual or group has yet been identified.
