NHS cyber attack leaves patients at risk of extortion after personal details stolen
Patients in Dumfries and Galloway have been warned that their stolen data could be used for extortion following a cyber attack on the NHS. After their demands were not met, the criminals published details of six patients online and later released three terabytes of personal information about patients and NHS workers. NHS Dumfries and Galloway believe their systems to be as secure as possible, and are working with Police Scotland in response to the attack.
