NHS cyber attack: Major UK hospitals forced to cancel surgeries and blood transfusions as ‘critical incident’ declared

Major surgeries and blood transfusions are being cancelled at hospitals throughout the UK due to a cyber attack. Royal Brompton, Harefield, and London’s Guy’s, St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospitals are among those affected. Contracted IT firm Synnovis, serving NHS pathology labs, confirmed that it was the victim of a ransomware attack and apologised for the disruption.
