NHS cyber attack sees more than 1,500 operations and appointments cancelled in London

Russian cybercriminal group Qilin’s attack on pathology firm Synnovis has significantly disrupted London’s NHS services. Over 1,500 operations and appointments were cancelled in a week at King’s College Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas NHS Trusts, hampering their ability to conduct blood transfusions. While Synnovis is working to recover its systems, some disruption is anticipated for months. St George’s University Hospitals has taken in affected patients to help manage the situation.
