Russian cyber-criminal group Qilin targeted major UK hospitals, by seizing control of IT networks and disrupting services such as blood testing and transfusions. The nefarious group have previously attacked car companies, courts, and other businesses. Hospitals were forced to declare a major incident during the latest attack. The group is likely to demand a significant sum to restore services and is threatening to release confidential data.
