NHS Dumfries and Galloway apologises for “anxiety” caused by cyber attack

NHS Dumfries and Galloway suffered a cyber attack in February, with the incident being publicised in March. The incursion by group INC Ransom resulted in a large amount of patient and staff data being accessed, as revealed in a “proof pack” of six patient records. The health board apologised for the resultant anxiety, has informed the patients involved and is working to mitigate additional risks.
