NHS Dumfries and Galloway apologises for “anxiety” caused by cyber attack

The NHS Dumfries and Galloway health board has apologised after a cyber attack in February led to hackers gaining access to a large amount of patient and staff data. The board said it has been hard to confirm exactly what data the hackers accessed due to the scale and breadth of the potential information. Actions have been taken to minimise further risk and tests are set to be conducted. The board also urged its staff and patients to remain vigilant against unauthorised data access attempts.
