NHS England appoints John Quinn as CIO

John Quinn has been appointed as the new CIO of the National Health Service (NHS) in England, and has responsibility for the NHS’s technical infrastructure and cybersecurity for national services. Quinn is expected to oversee a $2.3bn digital health and social care plan, which includes digitising patient records across NHS trusts and expanding remote monitoring capabilities. Quinn previously assumed the temporary CIO role at NHS Digital and held leadership positions at the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency.
