NHS England reports GP data breach after Capita cyber-attack

A cyber attack on Capita impacted 90 organisations including NHS England. An initially limited damage report was revised in May when Capita admitted to the exfiltration of some data and earmarked between £15m and £20m to cover associated costs. The Information Commissioner’s Office advised all organisations using Capita’s services to check their data. Some of the breached data included limited information about two patients and files containing information about deceased and de-registered patients.
