NHS gender identity clinic discloses email contacts of 2,000 patients | NHS

Around 2,000 patients of an NHS gender identity clinic had their email addresses disclosed in a breach of patient confidentiality. The patients are part of the Tavistock and Portman NHS foundation trust, who are currently in transition. Critics state that this could result in patients being unwillfully exposed, which could be damaging to their wellbeing and safety. The Trust has acknowledged the mistake, defining it as a “serious incident” which is currently under investigation.
