NHS has repeated data breaches

Big Brother Watch says 2,500 breaches of confidentiality are occurring annually at the National Health Service (NHS), citing incidents of private information being stolen, sent by post or fax, or inappropriately shared on social media. Fifty staff members resigned as a result. South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust had the highest number of breaches, at 869. Big Brother Watch directors called for stricter training within the NHS and more severe penalties for the most serious breaches.
