NHS Highland: Personal info of likely HIV patients leaked

NHS Highland inaccurately used carbon copy (CC) instead of blind carbon copy (BCC) in an email sent to 37 people, exposing each recipient’s email address. The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) called this “a serious breach of trust” and urged HIV service providers to improve data protection safeguards. The ICO included its recommendations in NHS Highland’s information governance action plan.
