NHS Highland reprimand for HIV patient email data breach

NHS Highland has apologised for a data breach in which it inadvertently revealed the personal email addresses of 37 people using its HIV services. The health board used the CC function instead of BCC when sending an email, causing all recipients to see each others’ email addresses. The Information Commissioner’s Office labelled the error as a “serious breach of trust.”
