The NHS is appealing for blood donors, particularly of O-types, due to a severe shortage caused by a cyber attack that disrupted transfusion services in major London hospitals. The ransomware attack was reportedly the work of Qilin, a Russian group of cybercriminals. NHS Blood and Transplant is urging O-Type donors to make appointments to donate in one of London’s 25 NHS donor centers to replenish stocks which also dropped after the May bank holidays and half-term.
