NHS launches urgent appeal to London Blood Donors due to ongoing cyber attack

London hospitals are experiencing unprecedentedly low levels of O type blood due to increased demand caused by a cyber attack and a large number of unfilled donation appointments. NHS Blood and Transplant has issued an “Amber Alert,” asking hospitals to use this type of blood only for essential cases and urging O negative and O positive donors to donate urgently. Additional appointments are being made available to help with the situation.
