NHS Lothian fined over two patient deaths in falls from windows

NHS Lothian was fined £220,000 for breaches in safety after two patients, aged 55 and 79, fell from hospital windows and died in separate incidents at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. The Health and Safety Executive commented that the health board failed to manage the risks of patients falling from windows.
