NHS: Millions of medical devices in UK hospitals are completely unprotected against hackers

Millions of medical devices in UK hospitals are now vulnerable to ransomware attacks. Devices including security cameras and blood monitors are either unable to run security software or run outdated versions and are often unmonitored. Hackers can infiltrate hospital networks through these devices. Cyber security firm Armis Security sent Freedom of Information requests to 150 NHS Trusts in England, only 71 responded but a worrying one in five use spreadsheets to manually track each medical device and almost one in six devices are not monitored for cybersecurity risks.
