NHS Orkney sorry after records accessed inappropriately

NHS Orkney suffered a data breach when a staff member inappropriately accessed patient records. The incident, affecting patients in Stronsay, was revealed after a public complaint. NHS Orkney confirmed the employee involved no longer works there and there was no evidence of data being amended, downloaded, or forwarded. This comes after three previous breaches in two months and an independent review of data security in 2020. The Information Commissioner’s Office has been notified.
