NHS quango accuses hospital chiefs of ignoring cyberattack warnings

NHS Digital has accused hospital chiefs of neglecting its warnings to maintain secure IT systems, thereby contributing to the recent ransomware attack that disabled patient-data systems in more than 60 healthcare organisations in the UK. The damages could have been prevented by a Microsoft update intended to protect against the WannaCry virus, notes NHS Digital.
