Russian attackers are believed to be behind a ransomware attack that left three London hospitals unable to function normally. The incident, first reported this Monday, led to operations, blood tests and transfusions being delayed or cancelled at King’s College Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’. Advanced IT systems like Synnovis, that serve NHS pathology labs, were the target of the attack which until now has had significant impact on London’s health services. The incident has raised questions around cyber security in the NHS.
