NHS rejects Apple-Google coronavirus app plan

The UK is developing a coronavirus contact-tracing app, following a different model to Apple and Google amid privacy and performance anxiety. The NHS has promised the software will work well on all iPhones, without needing to be kept active and visible. The NHSX will centralise the matching process on a computer server rather than on users’ devices. NHSX hopes this model will allow for greater understanding of the virus’ spread.
