NHS still vulnerable to WannaCry-style cyber-attacks, report warns

The UK’s National Health Service (NHS) remains highly vulnerable to cyber-attacks due to outdated systems, a lack of technical expertise, and insufficient funding, says a white paper by researchers from Imperial College London. The report further notes that the NHS desperately relies on third parties to store and protect data, and not enough monitoring is taking place. The study suggests employment of more security experts and the adoption of security tools such as firewalls.
