NHS to be upgraded to Windows 10 as government agree to Microsoft deal

siteadmin April 30, 2018

The UK’s Department of Health and Social Care has entered a deal with Microsoft so that all National Health Service (NHS) organisations can use Windows 10. The move is designed to improve protection against cyber attacks, similar to the WannaCry virus outbreak in 2017, which affected one third of NHS trusts. The government has also dedicated £150m ($201m) to improve resilience over the next three years, which includes the launch of a new NHS Digital Security Operations Centre.
