NHS Trust Confirms Clinical Data Leaked by Recognized Ransomware Group

NHS Dumfries and Galloway has confirmed a leak of patient clinical data following a ransomware attack. Trust documents reveal that the data of a small number of patients has been published by a ransomware group. This follows threats to publish 3TB of data unless demands are met. Crictical data includes sensitive clinical documents such as genetics reports and doctor communication letters. Patients affected are being contacted. The Chief Executive emphasized that patient-facing services are functioning as normal.
