NHS trusts affected by cyber attack

Several hospitals in the UK were hit by a cyber attack, disrupting services and forcing some patient appointments to be cancelled. The attack involved ransomware, which locks users out of their computer system until a ransom is paid. Bedford Hospital disengaged from external systems as a precautionary measure, while Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Trust switched off its IT infrastructure, although it wasn’t directly affected.
