NHS trusts found to share private data with Facebook

A new report revealed that 20 NHS trusts had a covert tracking tool on their websites, reportedly sharing private patient data with Facebook without consent. The data was linked with user IP addresses and Facebook account details. After the breach, 17 of the 20 trusts confirmed they had removed the tracking tool and issued apologies. The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is investigating.
