NHS waiting list breaches 7MILLION for first time ever

siteadmin October 13, 2022

Over seven million people in England are now waiting for routine National Health Service (NHS) operations such as hip and knee replacements, with almost 390,000 patients waiting more than a year for treatment. According to data, ambulances are taking an average of 48 minutes to respond to emergency calls, more than twice as long as the target. Ambulance services, A&E departments, and routine surgeries are all experiencing record backlogs. Additionally, despite record numbers of cancer checks being carried out, the NHS is still failing to treat patients quickly enough.
