NHS working with U.K. cyber authorities to assess ransomware attack on IT vendor
The UK’s National Health Service (NHS) is investigating recent ransomware attacks on IT provider Advanced, affecting systems used by NHS hospitals and clinics. NHS England and the National Cyber Security Centre are examining the impact; it is yet to be confirmed whether patient data was compromised. Some services were disrupted, causing wait times to rise. The NHS was last hit by a major ransomware attack in 2017, which cost an estimated $90 million.
