NHSX ‘working on second tracing app using Apple and Google tech’

The UK’s NHSX digital innovation unit may be developing a second phone-based coronavirus tracker that uses Apple and Google technology, according to anonymous sources. The new app would be developed alongside the existing one, criticised by politicians for eschewing the tech giants’ process over privacy concerns. NHSX denied the suggestion a second app was in development, stating it was “continuing to refine” the first app.
