North Korean hackers are posing as job interviewers – don’t be fooled

North Korean state-sponsored hackers are running two malware campaigns, dubbed “Contagious Interview” and “Wagemole”, targeting employers and job seekers respectively, warn cybersecurity researchers from Unit 42. The campaigns trick users into downloading malware-infected files, aiming to steal cryptocurrencies and use the victims’ endpoints for further attacks. The malware used, BeaverTail and InvisibleFerret, which work on Windows, macOS, and Linux devices, are hidden within the interview process.
