North Korean hackers posed as Meta recruiter on LinkedIn

North Korean hackers targeted employees at a Spanish aerospace firm using a novel backdoor and a sophisticated phishing scheme, according to cybersecurity firm ESET. The hackers, associated with North Korea’s Lazarus Group, posed as a recruiter for Meta and sent malicious coding challenges via LinkedIn, laced with a remote access trojan named “LightlessCan.” The malware demonstrated significant advancement in stealth and complexity, making detection and analysis harder.
