NSF funds software to safeguard patient data during COVID-19 research

The tool aims to assess the risks of sharing data that could potentially identify patients and ensure that data sharing is done with patient privacy in mind. Concerns about patient privacy have arisen as COVID-19 research continues and contact-tracing apps become more widespread.
